Hold the Rice...

Yesterday, the world was introduced to another crisis. According to commodity experts the world is in the midst of a grain shortage. Rice, wheat, and corn are in high demand because of the surge in biofuel development. This is a difficult problem for humanitarian, environmental, political, and agricultural workers. With the emergence of Ethanol as a viable source of alternative energy, farmers have diverted more of their crop to this new fuel. This has created a rise in grain prices and decreased the supply avalible for consumption.
