BarackBook

The GOP launched a new website. Drawing the guilt by association card, the GOP hopes that Obama's halo can be bent. I don't think it will work though...

Recently, bloggers have been buzzing about Obama's speech in Berlin. Citing that the major news networks failed to mention that his speech was preceeded by two popular German rock bands. Reportedly, only Fox News mentioned this fact.

I must admit. Obama has the best graphic designers in the business. His website, bumper stickers, and graphic art is second to none. They Dems are sly and they are pulling out every trick in the book to steer this man into the White House.

Obey owner Shepard Fairey, has revived the red revolution styled posters. This totally reminds me of the Lenin, Stalin, and Che commie posters. Kinda scary if you ask me.

My Angels

I am proud to state that my Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are the best team in baseball. Yesterday, they acquired one of the premier first basemen in the game: Mark Teixeira. For the last six years, the Angels have lacked a bonafide slugger in their lineup. It has affected them in recent years, and it has been the primary reason why they have been unable to reach the World Series.

By adding Mark Teixeira, it will strengthen our batting lineup that features Vladimir Guerrero, Torii Hunter, and Garret Anderson. Teixeira's imposing presence in the starting lineup will be incalculable. I have been waiting six years for the Angels to finally make a mid-season trade to put our club over the top. The Angels have the best record in baseball (67-40) and many sports writers now believe that the Angels will make it to the World Series.

Now, there is some speculation regarding Teixeira because he will be a free agent after the end of this season. There are some reports that he is asking for a 10 year, 230 million dollar deal. Will the Angels choose to lock him up? That remains to be seen. But in the short term, this is a historic move for the Angels and it will definitely help them in October.

This is a great time to be an Angel fan and I am thrilled to see what will happen in the coming weeks!

A Fair Night

On Friday, my brother and I decided to take a trip down to the OC Fair. Living in Orange County for most of my life, I had never been to the fair on a busy weekend night. Many thanks to EL for the free tickets and for letting us park in front of his house! Here are some pictures from the night.

This was a sand sculpture with some mischievous mice

No, thank you..

For one buck, I saw the largest steer. I thought he looked rather depressed...

Some Funnel Cake Goodness

"oh look, some crazy fair food"

Deep Fried Frog Legs. They tasted like a cross between chicken and catfish. I coined it "aquatic chicken"

An Inconvenient Truth About Health Care...

Fox News provides a closer look at Canada's health care system. Could this be a preview of what America will be like in four years? I hope not... People in America want something for nothing. Free health care is a great idea, but at what cost? Longer waits, poor quality, and inefficiency are only some of the inconvenient truths when you allow the state to provide a service.

Media Bias? The Love Train Continues...

As the media is swooning over Barack Obama's Mid-East tour a new ad hit the internet to poke fun at the apparent bias and infatuation over the Democratic nominee. In a new poll conducted by the Rasmussen Group, nearly 50% of the American public believe that the media favors Obama and only 24 percent say that they trust the media to provide unbiased reporting.
This video is a great and funny response to the "Obama-bots" at NBC, namly Chris Matthews. Just watch the orgasmic Chris Matthews and his colleagues treat Obama more like the Pope instead of a presidential nominee.

Pinhead or Patriot???

One of my favorite commentaries is the "Pinhead or Patriot" segment on the O'Reilly Factor. Everyday, he selects politicians, celebrities, or whoever he considers to fall into these two categories.

I was watching the news today and I noticed that the LA City Council voted on two laws affecting thousands of its citizens. One law is to outlaw the use of plastic bags and the other is to impose a 1 year ban on the opening of any new fast food restaurants in a certain region of the city. Instead of focusing on real problems such as gang warfare, traffic gridlock, and record high school drop out rates, the City Council has devoted their time and resources to combat a grave and evil enemy: Plastic Bags and Consumer Choice.

To me, the 1 year moratorium on fast food is the most disturbing. Most people know that a Big Mac is not the healthiest meal. It is loaded with calories and saturated fat. Anybody with half a brain knows that. But should it be the right of the government to prevent me from choosing to eat at MacDonalds or ordering Chinese food?? Heck No!! This is America. Not Socialist Europe. Sadly, we live in an era where everyone is a victim. Personal responsibility is thrown out the window and in its place Big Brother is the arbiter of choice.

Because the LA City Council has opted to deny American's their basic right to choose where they eat their dinner and what bag they can use without providing an alternative they are most certainly Pinheads.

King of the French Fry - Day 3

My apologies for slacking off on this story. I have had the intention to continue this blog for about a week but I am a person who is distracted easily...

The next leg of our great adventure took us to one of the most beloved fast food joints in Southern California: Del Taco. Whoever decided to serve french fries with tacos deserves a plaque on the wall of the Human Hall of Fame. This time we added another friend to our french fry fellowship, our So Cal sales rep. Brett.

As we all ordered our combos, and here was great anticipation. Del Taco is one of the few establishments to feature crinkle cut fries on their menu. I personally love Del Taco fries because they are so unique and they compliment anything that is offered on the menu. After we completed our meal our scores were recorded:

Me: 5 pts
Joe-Brah: 5 pts
Jim: 7
RA: 8
Total 6.25

I must confess, Joe and I were disappointed with our fries. I thought they were soggy and lacked any crispiness. For that reason, I gave them a moderate rating of 5 points. Jim loves Del Taco fries and even he did not entirely enjoy today's eating experience.

Stussy Livin XL

My buddy Kyle from work found this vintage Stussy ad. I asked around and this ad is at least 21 years old! Wow. Check it.

This Is Why Obama Would Be A Disaster

Barack Obama does not understand the war on terror. He is living in fantasy land if he believes that if we leave Iraq then the Muslims will like us. You cannot appease the Muslim world. Although, I have not agreed with the management of the Iraq war I do believe that we need to be on the offensive. We are no longer protected by two oceans spanning thousands of miles. Within the last seven years, we have significantly disrupted the enemy and must continue to. Leaving Iraq is not the answer.

Today, I see people who have the wool over their eyes. Nobody wants to deal with the real problem. Islam. In its core, Islam cannot spread naturally. Historically, it has survived only through jihad. Obama's view of appeasement is not the answer and will not make American's safer.

Newt Gingrich nailed it when he said that the leadership in the Washington is "sleepwalking."

King of the French Fry - Day 2

The next stop on our quest was the Home of the Whopper - Burger King. Joining us on today's journey was RA's wife and kids. Burger King's fries are of the shoestring variety. They are skinny, yet crispy and have a nice exterior texture. After a grueling half hour we recorded our findings.

RA: 8
Jim: 6
Me: 5
Joe-Brah: 5
Total Score: 6

Defeating the Carl's Jr. fries by the slimmest of margins, I was a bit disappointed. But I still think that the new Carl's fries are the best.

Tomorrow's destination: Del Taco

King of the French Fry

A great debate has been sparked within the Stussy production department. I asserted that the new Carl's Jr. fries are some of the best EVER. To test this claim, on tuesday my friends RA, Jim, and Joe-brah decided to eat at Carl's Jr. We decided to score the fries on a scale of one to ten.
Here are the results:
RA: 1 pt
Jim: 5 pts
Me: 8 pts
Joe-Brah: 8 pts
Total Score: 5.5

Comments: RA "too soggy, don't like the skin on the fries" Jim: "They were ok" Joe-Brah: "Not bad"

Words

This week has been a rough one for Obama. He has flip flopped on how he plans to end the war, calling Iran a "grave threat" two days after saying that Iran was not a "serious threat". The GOP NEEDS to hammer this guy. Obama's views change by the second. This guy is a farce.
