Pita Points

I snapped this shot when I was eating at Daphnes. I strongly suspect that the massive appeal of Pena Points is beginning to take hold.

Fantasy Baseball Team

After my recent ranting about politicians, I felt it was time to take a break and to post something fun on my blog.

As the days get longer, it signals the begin of spring and the return of baseball. I love baseball. I cannot think of anything better than to watch a game on a saturday afternoon during the summer months. Baseball is the definition of summertime in America.

On Friday, I met with my friends to hold our fantasy league baseball draft. It was great to talk about players, teams, and stats for an entire night. It made me excited for the upcoming season and I cannot wait for opening day.

Here is my 2008 starting lineup:

P: Jake Peavey, Carlos Zambrano, Chris Young, Ian Snell, Clay Bucholtz
1B: Adrian Gonzalez
2B: Howie Kendrick
3B: Mike Lowell
SS: Troy Tulowitzki
C: Jason Veritek
OF: Magglio Ordonez, Raul Ibanez, Jacoby Ellsbury
RP: Joe Borowski, Heath Bell, Bob Howry
DH: Carlos Delgado
Bench: Shane Victorino, JD Drew, Melky Cabera, Gil Meche

Sen. Obama's Response

In response to the Jeremiah Wright scandal, Senator Obama released a statement on the Huffington Post friday afternoon. In it he denounces the hateful comments from his longtime pastor. As I have stated before, I believe that he does not share the same, paranoid views of his pastor. I will give him the benefit of the doubt. However, his choice to align himself for over 20 years with someone who calls the United States the "U-S-K-K-K" is a major problem. Sen. Obama has often described his relationship with Rev. Wright as like "an uncle who says things I don't always agree with". The problem with that analogy is that in life we don't pick our uncles but we do choose where we go to church for nearly 20 years.

It is Jeremiah Wright who inspired the title of Obama's bestseller "The Audacity of Hope." As columnist Mark Steyn writes, "Did Obama consider God Damn America as a title for his book but it didn't focus-group so well?"

Barack's Pastor

Last night's revelation about Barack Obama's Pastor Jeremiah Wright may sink his presidential bid. By associating himself for over 20 years with a pastor who hates America, anyone who is not black, and our system of government is a major problem. Just listen to a few of these despicable statements by this angry old man. Wright's ideas are revisionist, liberal, and marxist which must be deplored by Christians of all denominations. What type of Christianity is this?? It is not the Christianity found in the Bible. And anyone who wholly agrees with Pastor Wright is not a Christian. This is a doctrine of hate and is directly from the devil who is the source of racism and lies. Now, I don't think that Sen. Obama believes most of what his pastor says. However, I have serious doubts concerning Barack Obama's judgement to have so much trust and affection for this man. Pastor Wright is even a "advisor" to Obama's campaign. You are judged by the company you keep. For someone who prides himself on his judgement skills over experience, I think Senator Obama is in serious trouble.

Man In the Arena

Too few understand the real threat of radical Islam. These fanatics will never back down until the entire world is under Islamic law. It is foolishness to believe that we can appease them through policies, aide, or money. Even though, I may disagree with some of John McCain's ideas on immigration, and the environment. I know that he is the only candidate who will not hesitate to defend this nation. Let us not forget the real issues that confront this nation. As most of the nation is distracted with universal health care and the environment, it will take a real leader to tackle the problem of national security. That is why I will support John McCain in 2008.

Stussy Las Vegas

On Friday, the Stussy brand unveiled their latest store in the town that Sinatra built. In a recent slew of store openings, Stussy has added Honolulu, Las Vegas, and next week will christen Toronto, Canada to their long list of popular boutiques. One of the leading mainstays of the streetwear culture, Stussy has shown once again that it remains an influentlal player in an industry that it helped to cultivate and sustain over the decades.

Up The Tailpipe

HIllary and Barack both want to punish the oil companies for earning too much money. The last time I checked, America was still a capitalistic society. Would someone please remind comrades Obama and Clinton of our free enterprise system? High profits allow companies to pass out dividends (which are taxed) to shareholders or to reinvest within the company. If you think that revoking government subsidies will ease our dependance on global oil, think again. If anything, it will raise oil and gasoline prices. As China, India, Saudi Arabia, and Russia gobble up the remaining oil properties we will be left with nothing. The rest of the world is laughing at us as we try to develop alternative forms of energy and are so paranoid about B.S. topics like Global Warming.

Viva Obama

I saw this on the Daily Show last night. Attempting to make inroads within the latino community, a few of Obama's supporters made a fun video.

HIllary Viral Video

Obama has Will.I.Am. Now, Jack for is Hillary. My question is, what celebrity will make a video for McCain?

Unnecessary Censorship

This is one of my favorite Jimmy Kimmel featurettes. The final clip was my favorite.
