El Presidente

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is proposing a radical overhaul of his country's constitution. Virtually unopposed, it is certain that Chavez will get his way. His constitutional reform will include perpetual re-election for himself. So, until he dies naturally or if some staff aide shoots him in the back (pray for the latter) it will be a dark time for this oil-rich country.

At the end of a recent speech, Chavez said, "I doubt there is any country on this planet with a democracy more alive than the one we enjoy in Venezuela today."

FYI: CITGO and VALERO Gas is affliated with the Venezuelan government which can be tied to Chavez. Don't go there.
