Anime Adventures

If there is one thing about me, it is that i LOVE anime. Being the anime enthusiast that I am, I ventured with my brother to the Anime Expo this past weekend at the Long Beach Convention Center. Ok, time for a little honesty. I don't have any interest in anime whatsoever. Although, I do have an interest for Japanese culture, anime has never been a passion of mine.

As expected, there were a ton of people dressed up as their favorite characters. Guys dressed as ninja lords carrying their handcrafted swords, chicks dressed with high socks and the shortest mini skirts, and even people wearing racoon tails. Yes, racoon tails...

Anyways, it was an interesting experience. I took a ton of pictures. If you like to people watch, it is definatly the place to be.

STRIKE

The supermarket stike is near...i don't like unions.

I really want to cross the picket lines. Those cashiers earn so much money for the most mundane tasks. Seriously, how hard is it to swipe groceries on the conveyer belt...

We can probably do away with 50% of overheard if they just introduced more self-checkout stands. Less overhead = lower costs...

Man vs. Wild

Although it is awesome to see a guy wander alone in the wilderness, I think that a lot of his stunts are planned. What do u think? I just saw Bear Grylls catch a trout while marooned in the French Alps. He did not have the resources to cook it and he bit into it RAW and ate it! Great TV!

Strike Looming

I don't give a rat's . . . for labor unions. I think they are draining productivity from the American workforce. There may soon be ANOTHER supermarket strike that will affect principlily Albertsons. BUT Ralphs and Vons will join in solidarity with Albertsons employees. If given the opportunity, I will cross the lines. I don't care about unions.

Baseball Is Back

Baseball is back and I am glad. The days are getting longer and summer is just around the corner. The Angels are the favorite to win their division because of their pitching and "improved" defense. I just hope that the Gary Matthews/HGH ordeal will not affect the team in a negative way. A problem that can derail our team, I am hoping for the best. I believe our bullpen is our strongest asset. Anchored by K-Rod and Scot Sheilds, the addition of Justin Spier was a HUGE but often overlooked signing. If our starters can consistantly pitch into the sixth and seventh innings with the lead I know that when the opposition plays the Halos they will be playing a seven inning game. Pitching and defense win championships. That is the recipe for success in Major League Baseball.

All in all,

I am just excited to see baseball again.
